چکیده
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from N fertilizer applied to row crops makes up a large portion of the greenhouse gas loading atmosphere. Guayule (Parthenium argentatum A. Gray) is desert perennial shrub being promoted for Central Arizona farmers as source natural rubber and hypoallergenic latex. Emissions N2O crop uptake have not been previously quantified in this multi-year cropping system. A 2.5-year study was conducted on transplanted surface-irrigated guayule Casa Grande sandy loam Maricopa, AZ assess agronomic environmental responses application rate. Four rates ranging 0 252 kg ha−1 were ammonium sulfate three splits. measured with 1-L vented chambers 34 times over 98 weeks 17 April 2013 6 March 2015 pauses during winter dormant seasons. Nitrogen rate significantly affected emissions, which ranged 1.2 4.5 rates. Nitrous Oxide Emissions from Irrigated Cropping Systems
We evaluated the eff ects of irrigated crop management practices on nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from soil. Emissions were monitored from several irrigated cropping systems receiving N fertilizer rates ranging from 0 to 246 kg N ha−1 during the 2005 and 2006 growing seasons. Cropping systems included conventional-till (CT) continuous corn (Zea mays L.), no-till (NT) continuous corn, NT corn–dr...

متن کاملFertilizer management effects on nitrate leaching and indirect nitrous oxide emissions in irrigated potato production.
Potato ( L.) is a N-intensive crop, with high potential for nitrate (NO) leaching, which can contribute to both water contamination and indirect nitrous oxide (NO) emissions. Two approaches that have been considered for reducing N losses include conventional split application (CSA) of soluble fertilizers and single application of polymer-coated urea (PCU). The objectives of this study were to: ...
متن کاملNitrous oxide emissions from in situ deposition of N-labeled ryegrass litter in a pasture soil.
During pasture grazing, freshly harvested herbage (litterfall) is dropped onto soils from the mouths of dairy cattle, potentially inducing nitrous oxide (NO) emissions. Although the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) recommends accounting for NO emissions from arable crop residues in national inventories, emissions from the litterfall of grazed pasture systems are not recognized. ...
